EU INTERREG VA Programme 2014-2022

The INTERREG VA Programme (2014-2022) is one of 60 programmes across the European Union designed to promote greater levels of cross-border co-operation. The eligible area for the INTERREG VA Programme includes Northern Ireland, the Border Counties of Ireland and Western Scotland.

The Programme has been designed to promote greater economic, social and territorial cohesion across the region. The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) contribution to the Programme is €240m (85%). In addition €43m (15%) will come from match-funding, raising the total value of the Programme to €283m.

The CAWT Partnership submitted five proposals to the INTERREG VA Programme’s Health theme and is a partner on a sixth, Scottish-led project. These proposals are focused on improving the health and well-being of people living in the region by enabling them to access health and social care services in the most appropriate setting to their needs.

After a competitive process, grant funding was awarded and as of July 2017, four of the CAWT Partnership projects and the one Scottish led project had received final Letters of Offer to enable them to formally commence.

All projects completed operationally by June 2023.
